A Spline-Based Partial Element Equivalent Circuit Method for Electrostatics

نویسندگان

چکیده

This contribution investigates the connection between isogeometric analysis (IgA) and partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) method for electrostatic problems. We demonstrate that using spline-based geometry concepts from IgA allows extracting elements without an explicit meshing step. Moreover, proposed IgA–PEEC converges complex geometries up to three times faster than conventional PEEC approach and, in turn, it requires a significantly lower number of degrees freedom solve problem with comparable accuracy. The resulting is closely related boundary method. However, uses lowest-order basis functions allow straightforward physical interpretations. findings are validated by analytical example geometry, is, significant curvature, realistic model surge arrester.

Partial Element Equivalent Circuit (PEEC) models for on-chip passives and interconnects

The accurate simulation of the electromagnetic behaviour of interconnects and on-chip inductors is becoming more and more important for chip designs. For this purpose, we investigate the use of the electric field integral equation, which can be used to construct a full-wave electromagnetic model. To facilitate the combined analysis of the chip’s circuit and the electromagnetic behaviour, the el...

From Partial Element Equivalent Circuit (PEEC) to muphyPEEC for Solving Coupled Multiphysics Problems

A tool for unified simultaneous simulation of multiphysics problems based on Partial Element Equivalent Circuit (PEEC) method is presented. Extension of PEEC method with thermal and mechanical domains is based on circuit interpretation of Finite Difference (FD) and Finite Element Method (FEM) equations. Equations in FEM case are derived by Galerkin's residual method with basis functions of orde...

Partial-Element Equivalent-Circuit Model Simulation for Designing RF-Wireless Communication Products with Embedded Passive Components

Rapidly increasing functionality and performance of RF/wireless communication products, along with mandated decreases in size, weight, and cost, have created a critical need to replace discrete, surface-mounted passive circuit components with embedded passives in substrate technologies such as Low-Temperature Cofired Ceramic (LTCC). The design process for embedded passives requires rapid electr...

Monte Carlo simulation of an radio frequency identification system with moving transponders using the partial element equivalent circuit method

When designing an radio frequency identification system it is important to take both the position and the movement of the transponders into account. In this study, a simulation method that enables the description of a complete RFID system including moving and rotating transponders as well as a complex, industrial environment is presented. By using the partial element equivalent circuit method t...

A Super - Element Based on Finite Element Method for Latticed Columns Computational Aspect and Numerical Results

This paper presents a new super-element with twelve degrees of freedom for latticed columns. This elements is developed such that it behaves, with an acceptable approximation, in the same manner as a reference model does. The reference model is constructed by using many Solid elements. The cross section area, moments of inertia, shear coefficient and torsoinal rigidity of the developed new elem...
